Rasm e Nikkah Aur Shariat Ki Mukhalfat is a concise Urdu booklet that discusses certain wedding customs which contradict Islamic teachings. In this work, the former Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, Shaykh Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah bin Baz (رحمہ اللہ), and the distinguished scholar Shaykh Muhammad bin Salih al-Uthaymeen (رحمہ اللہ) clarify various practices that have become common in marriage ceremonies.

The translator explains that many Muslims, whether knowingly or unknowingly, spend large amounts of money on customs that have no real benefit. Although such practices may appear impressive outwardly, they bring no spiritual reward and may instead become a burden in the Hereafter. The booklet reminds readers that wealth should be used wisely and in accordance with Islamic principles.

It is also noted that while some un-Islamic wedding customs are common across different countries, certain practices are particularly prevalent in the Indian subcontinent. For this reason, the translator has made slight modifications and additions in the Urdu version so that local readers can better understand and benefit from the guidance.

The translator humbly prays for acceptance of this effort and expresses gratitude to those who supported the publication of this work. The aim of the book is not criticism, but correction — encouraging simple, dignified marriages that align with the Sunnah.
