A Research Study on Fabricated Narrations in Islamic History
Fitna e Waza Ahadees is a critical and research-oriented Urdu book that examines the issue of fabricated narrations and their long-term impact on Islamic history. The author emphasizes that the two primary sources of Islamic teachings are the Qur’an and the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). According to the discussion presented in this work, although the Qur’an was preserved in written form, serious historical controversies arose regarding the compilation, transmission, and authenticity of Hadith literature.

As a consequence, when interpretive guidance was later required to explain Qur’anic rulings, gaps were allegedly filled through personal reasoning, weak reports, or fabricated narrations. The author presents this development as a major turning point that influenced theological debates and sectarian differences within the Muslim community.
Fitna e Waza Ahadees also discusses individuals who were accused in historical sources of fabricating traditions. It references classical works that documented narrators considered unreliable or weak, suggesting that thousands of such names have been recorded in biographical and Hadith criticism literature. The book concludes that the widespread circulation of unauthentic reports significantly altered religious understanding over time.
Overall, this work presents a historical and analytical perspective on the phenomenon of Hadith fabrication, aiming to shed light on its intellectual and theological consequences in Islamic history.
