A Spiritual Collection of Letters from the Naqshbandi Tradition
Maktoobat e Masumiya is a valuable Urdu translation of the sacred letters attributed to Hazrat Khawaja Muhammad Masoom Farooqi Sirhindi, the son of Imam Rabbani Mujaddid Alf Sani Sheikh Ahmad Farooqi Sirhindi. These letters were written after the passing of Mujaddid Alf Sani and preserve the spiritual teachings, guidance, and reformative insights of the Sirhindi scholarly and Sufi tradition. Maktoobat e Masumiya holds an important place in classical Islamic spiritual literature.

The initial compilation began in Sindh and later reached completion in Salam. Over time, handwritten manuscripts continued to circulate through careful transmission. After nearly two and a half centuries, the original Persian version of the first volume was printed for the first time at Matba Nizami Kanpur, though it later became rare.
This Urdu translation was prepared by Hazrat Maulana Syed Zwar Hussain Shah (رحمة الله عليه), a respected scholar and author of several notable works including Umdat al-Fiqh, Zubdat al-Fiqh, Umdat al-Suluk, and Hayat Saeediyah. His translation presents the spiritual depth and scholarly wisdom of the original Persian text in accessible Urdu, enabling a wider audience to benefit from its teachings.
The letters discuss themes of spiritual purification, adherence to Shariah, inner reform, and guidance for seekers on the path of Tasawwuf. They reflect a balanced approach that integrates outward religious practice with inward spiritual discipline. Scholars and students of Islamic spirituality continue to value this collection for its clarity, depth, and historical significance.
