Doctor Ghulam Jilani Barq was born in 1901 in Lesbaal, District Attock. He belonged to a deeply religious and scholarly family. His father, M. Qasim, was an Imam who established a mosque in their town, and both his parents were respected figures in the community. Growing up in such an environment, Barq developed a strong connection with Islamic teachings from an early age.

He received his early education from local religious scholars and later continued his studies under highly qualified teachers of Islamic sciences.
