Purpose of the Book

The foundation of Islam rests upon five pillars: Iman (faith), Salah (prayer), Zakat, Sawm (fasting), and Hajj. Although the Qur’an and Sunnah explain these obligations in detail, much of the original discussion exists in Arabic. As a result, many Urdu-speaking Muslims without formal Arabic training find it difficult to access authentic guidance directly.

This book was compiled to address that gap by presenting essential rulings and explanations in clear, contemporary Urdu so that ordinary readers can easily understand and practice their religious duties.

Distinctive Features

  • Discussion of essential and practical issues related to the five pillars of Islam.
  • Simple and commonly understood language suitable for the general public.
  • Inclusion of contemporary issues relevant to modern times.
  • References from the Qur’an, Hadith, and reliable classical Fiqh sources.
  • Explanation of rulings according to Hanafi jurisprudence.
  • Adoption of balanced and authoritative opinions in matters of scholarly difference.

Scholarly Review

The manuscript was reviewed with critical insight by Mufti Muhammad Rizwan (Idara Ghufran, Rawalpindi), who provided valuable suggestions. The author expresses gratitude to colleagues and scholars who assisted in verifying references and refining the work.

Written on 1st Ramadan 1424 AH (27 October 2003), this book aims to make the understanding of Islamic worship straightforward, structured, and practical for everyday Muslims.
