A Loneliest Commander – Episode 11 | Loyalty Tested but Not Broken
In Episode 10, we witnessed a painful turning point. Several commanders abandoned Imam Hasan (A.S) after being influenced by wealth and promises. The army was fragmenting, and trust within the ranks had weakened significantly.
However, not everyone was swayed by material temptation. History records that Muawiya attempted to influence the son of Abbas, who held an important military position within the army of Imam Hasan (A.S).
A letter was sent offering persuasion and possible incentives, hoping to secure his defection. The objective was clear — to further destabilize the leadership structure of Imam Hasan (A.S).
But the attempt failed. The son of Abbas firmly rejected the proposal and declared that he would not abandon Imam Hasan (A.S). His response demonstrated that despite widespread political pressure and bribery, loyalty and principle still existed within the camp.
Episode 11 highlights an important reality: although the army was weakening, not all conscience could be purchased. In a time of moral testing, some supporters chose steadfastness over worldly gain.
