Imam Ali Naqi (a.s.) is regarded as the tenth link in the sacred chain of Imams from the family of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his family). He is remembered as a protector of faith, a guardian of moral values, and a guiding light for believers. Throughout his life, he stood firmly against the oppressive Abbasid rulers of his time. Despite political pressure and constant surveillance, he never compromised on truth or justice. He raised his voice against tyranny and upheld the principles of obedience to Allah in every aspect of life.

His life was marked by patience, scholarship, and spiritual leadership. He guided his followers with wisdom and emphasized righteousness, devotion, and moral integrity. Even under harsh circumstances imposed by the ruling authorities, he continued to educate and spiritually train his companions, strengthening their faith and character.

During the reign of Mu‘tazz bin Mutawakkil, Imam Ali an-Naqi (a.s.) was martyred through poisoning in 254 A.H. in Samarrah, Iraq. According to historical reports, the poisoning was arranged through official channels. He was martyred on Monday, 3rd Rajab 254 A.H. At the time of his passing, only his son, Imam Hasan al-Askari (a.s.), was present. He performed the final rites, including ghusl and kafan, and mourned deeply for his father. The Imam is buried in Samarrah, where his shrine remains a place of respect and remembrance.

The martyrdom day of Hazrat Imam Ali Naqi (a.s.) is observed by believers as a time of reflection and remembrance. His life continues to inspire those who seek truth, courage, and steadfastness in faith. He remains a symbol of resistance against injustice and a beacon of spiritual guidance for generations.
