Khilafat wa Imamat – A Scholarly Discussion on Caliphate and Imamate
Khilafat wa Imamat is a compiled Urdu work featuring articles by prominent Muslim scholars in response to a controversial article written by a Hindu writer named Harnam. The original article was published in 1935 in the monthly magazine Nigar (Lucknow) and addressed the sensitive issue of Caliphate and Imamate.
[Free PDF download ##fa-file-pdf-o##]Following its publication, leading scholars from different schools of thought presented their perspectives on the subject. Their responses were written with seriousness, intellectual depth, and scholarly balance, free from polemical tone or low-level debate. The discussion marked one of the earliest comprehensive and dignified academic engagements on the issue.
Previously, these articles were published in separate volumes by an academic circle in Lucknow, but they later became rare. This edition compiles all those writings into a single volume for the benefit of students and researchers.
Contributors include well-known scholars such as Abu Saeed Bazmi, Niaz Fatehpuri, Farooq Kanpuri, Aini Shah Nizami, Syed Jaleel ur Rahman Azmi, Syed Ali Naqi Naqvi, Zakir Husain, Ihtisham Husain, and others.
