A Historical and Theological Discussion on the Issue of Fadak

Behas Bagh e Fidak is a well-known chapter from the book Aayat e Bayyanat authored by Nawab Mohsin ul Mulk, whose original name was Syed Mehdi Ali. This particular chapter gained significant recognition due to its detailed discussion on the historical and theological issue of Fadak. Syed Mehdi Ali was born on 9 December 1837 in British India. Belonging to a Shiite family, he initially received religious education under Shiite scholars and studied Fiqh, Arabic, Persian, and other traditional sciences along with formal subjects. Later in life, after conducting personal research into Islamic sects and theological differences, he adopted Sunni beliefs. His work Aayat e Bayyanat reflects his intellectual journey and presents arguments from his perspective.

Beyond theological discussions, Nawab Mohsin ul Mulk played an important administrative role after the death of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan. As an administrator of Aligarh, he contributed significantly to the development and rising prominence of the educational institution in India.
