Kitab al-Asar is an important work associated with the Hanafi school of Islamic jurisprudence. The book was compiled by the renowned scholar Imam Muhammad ibn Hasan al-Shaybani, who was one of the leading students of Imam Abu Hanifa.

Imam Muhammad al-Shaybani played a crucial role in preserving and transmitting the teachings of the Hanafi school. He studied with Imam Abu Hanifa as well as the famous scholar Imam Malik, gaining knowledge from multiple centers of Islamic learning.
